Welcome To Paul Writes Poems.

My small part of the internet where you can find some of my poetry, my writing and my poetry blog, The Book Bag which showcases the best emerging and established contemporary poets.

I’m Paul. A poet and writer living in Newcastle with my wife and our crazy dog Brody.

My writer’s bio is…

He has been widely published, with work featuring on BBC Upload, Eat The Storms and A Thousand Shades of Green Podcast and in publications from Full House Literary, Ink, Sweat and Tears, Black Bough Poetry, Dust Poetry, Hedgehog Poetry, Broken Spine Arts, Dark Poets Club, and more.

Inspired by his working-class roots and Northern culture, Paul’s work explores societal expectations, nature, place, relationships and identity.

Paul also runs the poetry blog ‘The Book Bag’ which platforms emerging and established writers via reviews and monthly features in The Book Bag: Poetic Voices and the Write Here, Right Now online poetry writing group. He also hosts The Book Bag Open Mic Sessions on Zoom.
